During May and early June, when Öland’s orchids are at their most magnificent, our knowledgeable guides will introduce you to the fascinating world of orchids—full of beauty and surprises.
Station Linné’s location at the northeastern edge of Stora Alvaret makes it a short walk to experience the blooming spring flowers. Of the 55 orchid species found in Sweden, 35 grow on Öland. Our skilled guides will share their botanical knowledge not only about orchids but also other exciting aspects of nature.
The guided tour runs from 10:00 to 12:00, and you pay at the café register, which opens at 09:30. After the tour, you can enjoy a coffee break in the café and receive a discount on a beautiful book about orchids in our shop.
During the tour, you'll walk approximately 2 kilometers with many stops along the way. The terrain is flat and easy to walk, with only one stile to cross over a stone wall. Dress according to the weather, and if it's sunny, it’s a good idea to bring a cap and a water bottle.
